Love Rock, a six-meter-high (20-foot) promontory and popular wedding site, divides the Cancun resort's beach frontage into a 100-meter (109-yard) segment and a 69-meter (75-yard) segment. Although all Cancún beaches are open to the public, Love Rock at one end and a bluff at the other make it difficult for outsiders to access the shorter stretch, effectively creating a tranquil "private" beach furnished with thatched-roof palapas for resort guests.

An independent operator, AquaWorld, rents boogie boards and snorkeling gear at the resort. Other independent operators offer personal watercraft and parasailing on the beach or nearby beaches. AquaWorld's main center is a marina 5.5 km (3.5 mi) away on Nichupté Lagoon, where many watersports are available, including parasailing, kayaking, personal watercraft, sailing, and windsurfing. AquaWorld also books fishing trips and scuba diving and snorkeling excursions.
